Challenge Toledo Ran with a Purpose

ToledoOn April 26th, 2015, the Challenge girls of Toledo Ohio, helped raise money for  Catholic Charities by running the 5K in the Glass City Marathon.  They raised $400 for a wonderful cause and had a great time doing so.  The girls wore the marathon shirts that read #Run With a Purpose on the front and With God, All things are possible on the back.  The marathon helped raise over $20, 000 to help Catholic Charities support the people in need in northwestern Ohio.

One fellow runner was Misty, a mother of four, who came to Catholic Charities a few years ago for rent assistance after an unexpected situation left her financially unstable.  Though it was a tough time for Misty, the situation did not lessen her perseverance and determination to provide for her children.   After she contacted Catholic Charities Family Support and Guidance program, Misty was able to receive temporary rent assistance while she searched for employment to support her family.  Today, Misty works three jobs to provide for her children.  She also helped raise over $100 as a participant in the Glass City Marathon.  She says she wanted to find a way to give back and help others through the organization that helped her get back on her feet.   The Challenge girls were honored to run alongside participants like Misty.
